Colorist and Fabric Technologist (Gurgaon)

Job Description :

1. Work with the Client  , Connor Merchant  and with Fabric  Mills on developing fabrics  in new weaving patterns or knit constructions .  Implement or enhance client standards , while keeping an eye on cost and feasibility. Ability to work on various fibres and blends  like cotton , wool , linen  , polyester , silk , viscose , modal etc.
2. Understand fabric quality issues and work with the Factories and Connor MR to resolve them. Communicate solutions to Vendor and  client .
3. Have good knowledge of fabric testing and be able to resolve test failures through corrective plans. Ability to guide mills on how to improve fabric and colour performance is needed . The candidate may also be required to manage the critical path of fabric testing on behalf of the clients.
4. Review fabric test reports and provide dispositions .  Have adequate knowledge of digital colour matching and spectrophotometry .
5. Understand colour requirements of the client and work with the mills and factories to implement those in the production lots .
6. Review and provide disposition on  lab dips , bulk lots and strike offs . Work with the Factories to improve them when needed .
7. Review and approve colour on any substrate – fabric , woollen rugs , metal or wood . Apply knowledge of colour chemistry to different substrates .

Qualifications :

1. A Graduate degree in Textile Chemistry OR Textile Technology . Post Graduation in Colour Chemistry is preferred .
2. Candidate should have worked 3 to 5 years in Fabric Dyeing / Printing / Finishing .
3. Should be energetic and have good command over spoken and written communication . Ability to communicate independently with Client is a must .
